Sammy and Frankie are a real sweet bonded pair. You might even call them the Odd Couple. Sammy is a 12 years chubby Puggle and Frankie is a 2yr Chihuahua mix. Sammy and Frankie were abandoned and taken to the shelter. The shelter noticed they were the best of friends and felt it was important that they stay together!
Sammy is in the process of loosing some weight. It's a slow process but we are working on it. Sammy and Frankie love to go on walks. They get very excited when they see their harnesses for the walk. Sammy keeps a real good pace while Frankie wants to go a little faster, but in the end everybody has a good time! Sammy is pretty laid back while Frankie is full of energy. They love to play with toys and please make sure you have some chews for them. They are very playful with each other and it's fun watching them chase each other around the house.
They are very good at going outside. They are kennel trained, but of course they get a treat when it is kennel time. Sammy will sit for a treat and Frankie is working on his sitting. They get along with other dogs. When meeting a person for the first time they might bark but after a couple of sniffs, everything is okay. Frankie is definitely a lap dog. He is very lovable and loves to give kisses. Sammy likes being close to you or in a position where he can see you.
Sammy is an older gent and is a bit arthritic. He is taking Gabapentin which really helps him quite a bit, but continued weight loss will be most important.
We think this couple could not be any sweeter and we hope someone will want to give them a home together!
