Elmer is an extremely sweet 12 year old boy looking for a forever home. He is very affectionate and loves getting pets, you’ll get to hear his "happy whine" noise if you give him serious scratchies. A perfect day for Elmer is hanging by your side and going for a few short walks throughout the day. He loves exploring at a park too. He is deaf though so best to keep him on leash so he doesn’t wander away! He has some arthritis and sometimes loses his balance on slippery surfaces but otherwise gets around great. He can climb a couple of stairs, but would be best on a single level. Elmer does okay being home alone (he’s potty trained) though like most pugs, he would much rather be where the people are most of his time! He will whine when he needs attention or if you disappear behind a door, but he's just letting you know he misses you! His foster parents are working on getting him used to car rides which he does not like yet and he has improved quite a bit. His current home doesn’t have other pets, but he has been a bit shy around dogs at the dog park. He would probably do best as the only pet or with another very mellow dog. We do not have history of him around cats, but think he’d probably do okay. He loves all people right away— especially if they pet! Elmer is a very sweet boy who is very eager to give all his love and affection to someone special.
